The Mi Smart Clock has a 3.97-inch touchscreen color display. It can show video from your connected security cameras so you can keep an eye on your house, or if you just to watch your pets play in another room. The clock also includes support Google Assistant with two built-in far-field microphones.
Chromecast support is also baked-in. In theory, that means you could cast video from YouTube, Netflix, or other Chromecast-supported smartphone apps to the clock’s display, although that was not shown during the brief reveal.
In addition, the Mi Smart Clock can be used to display your digital photo collection, along with serving as a hub for controlling your smart home devices. Of course, it’s also a smart speaker. Xiaomi says it can connect directly to your favorite music streaming services. For people who will use it as a fancy alarm clock, it has a Sunrise feature that gradually increases the light coming from the clock so you can wake up easier.
The Xiaomi Mi Smart Clock will be priced at €49.99 in European countries. There’s no word yet on a launch date, nor is there word on if it will be made available in other countries.
