Thank god it’s Friday! That means I get to watch some cool new movie trailers and TV teasers and you get to come along for the ride!
This week’s streaming trailer roundup is heavy on some big-ticket titles. We got a very intriguing trailer for The Irregulars, Netflix’s upcoming horror-thriller. There’s Idris Elba donning a cowboy hat in the middle of North Philly. And of course, we’ve added in the new Cruella trailer hoping Disney would release it for streaming soon after its theatrical release.

The Irregulars
Netflix has released a new trailer for its Sherlock Holmes spin-off, The Irregulars, and it’s definitely not what we expected. The upcoming series looks both sci-fi and supernatural at the same time. The clip shows Dr. Watson’s young street sleuths trying to uncover the demonic and mysterious depths of Victorian London. It’s not all good in the hood as on one hand, some people are gaining strange powers while on the other, some are getting murdered. I’m definitely up for this one. Are you?
Disney’s Cruella
I had a one-word reaction after watching this new movie trailer for Disney’s Cruella. Damn! The fashion in this one-minute-long clip is on fire and so is Emma Stone as one of the most well-dressed villains of cinema, the legendary Cruella De Vil. The new teaser shows us a glimpse of the early days of Cruella, a young, creative grifter with an appetite for mischief. She is woman… watch her roar!
In The Heights
An adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes’s Tony Award-winning musical, In The Heights, is coming to HBO Max this June. We saw a delightful new movie trailer for this Jon M. Chu directed musical this week and it’s best you watch it for yourself lest we spoil all the fun for you.
The Girlfriend Experience Season 3
Starz has released a new trailer for a fresh season of its hit show The Girlfriend Experience. The female-led saga, both in front of the screen and behind it, will return on May 2 with a storyline set in London. The plot focuses on the city’s tech scene and a neuroscience major named Iris. As she enters the world of escorting, she learns that her client sessions provide her with a compelling edge in the tech world and vice-versa. Sounds pretty interesting. I hope the book matches the cover.
Sasquatch
You can probably tell from its name that this streaming title has something to do with the Bigfoot folklore. If so, you’re partially right. The trailer for this upcoming Hulu docuseries by the Duplass Brothers introduces us to investigative journalist David Holthouse as he looks into three grisly murders in Northern California. Three men were torn apart in the region in 1993, leading to theories that the ape-like creature was to blame. Holthouse’s probe, however, leads him to the Emerald Triangle, famous for producing Cannabis plants. Could there be a connection between the murders, the weed haven, and Sasquatch?
Concrete Cowboy
Giddy up, y’all. Idris Elba is a cowboy in this new movie trailer. Now, who wouldn’t want to see that?! Jokes aside, Netflix’s Concrete Cowboy is based on Greg Neri’s 2009 novel “Ghetto Cowboy.” The plot centers around a troubled teen who is sent to North Philadelphia to live with his estranged father. There he gets inducted into a life of crime as well as his father’s vibrant urban-cowboy subculture.
