- The Redmi 10 Prime is coming to India on September 3.
- This is likely the Redmi 10 with a few minor tweaks.
Xiaomi officially revealed the Redmi 10 last week (seen above), and it seems like a good budget proposition on paper for under $200. The company didn’t reveal Indian launch details at the time, but it’s now confirmed a launch date for the so-called Redmi 10 Prime.
The company revealed a September 3 launch date at midday IST (2:30 AM ET), adding that the new phone will offer “blockbuster performance.” Check out the invite image below.
We’re expecting the Redmi 10 Prime to be a Redmi 10 variant, presumably offering more storage and/or RAM, for one. Lending credence to this belief is the fact that the Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 Prime share the same Bluetooth SIG listing and a very similar model number.
We also saw the Redmi 9 Prime released in India last year, differing from the global Redmi 9 by offering more RAM and storage in the base model as well as a water-repellent coating.
Otherwise, the Redmi 10 brings a Helio G88 SoC, a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging, and a 6.5-inch 90Hz LCD screen. Redmi’s device also serves up a 50MP quad rear camera system, although this 50MP sensor is a more budget-focused part than other 50MP sensors on the market.
There’s no word on the Redmi 10 Prime price just yet, but the Redmi 9 Prime retailed for Rs 9,999 (~$135). So it stands to reason that we’d see a similar price tag for the new device.
